Part III

Oh yeah, I was right. There was a second perpendicular to the instant when my heart was split in two hollow halves of a chemically altered shell of carefree wonderment. Escaping vertiginously from that moment was a smile that echoed in my irises and fell into my pupils, escaping certain doom, most certainly.
And the smile travled onward in space and upwards and downwards: the words that could name it escaped me. And in the blink of a streetlight, on the sigh of the breeze, your name came to mine as our lips intertwined as the autumn stars applauded.
Bent on the perpendicular seconds that are life, I often look sideways these days.
